THE VEDAS – ETERNAL GLORY OF OUR TRADITION

Vedas are believed to be the Divine revelations from the Cosmic Space recognized by Ancient Rishis. No authorship has been ascribed to these ancient Scriptures. The Vedic Vibrations are eternally present in the Cosmic Space in a very subtle form. In ancient Yugas, the Vedas as known to humanity were much larger in content than it is known today. Sage Vyasa has classified the whole Vedas into four groups known as Rig, Yajur, Sama, and Atharva. Sage Patanjali further divided these four into many branches or Shakhas. Rig Veda had twenty-one, Yajur Veda had one hundred and eight, Sama Veda had one thousand and Atharva Veda had nine shakhas. However, due to the passage of time, most of these have been lost to the present world. Of the remaining, one is of Rig Veda, Six are of Yajur Veda, Three are of Sama Veda and two are of Atharva Veda available now. It is already proven beyond doubt that Veda Mantras confer peace, prosperity, and general well-being to the whole world. It is our abundant duty to nourish and cherish the Vedas, which are the roots of our Culture and Sanatana Dharma for future generations.

With all our Respects & Obeisances and Pranams to our Great Sages f HH Sri Sri Sri Sringeri Jagadguru Bharathi Theertha Maha Swami Garu and HH Sri Sri Sri Sringeri Jagadguru Vidhushekhara Bharathi Theertha sannidam garu, we have founded Sri VedaBharathiSri Veda Bharathi - Veda Patashala at Lingannapet

'If we, of this generation, create a break in the chain of Vedic study, kept up for ages, from generation to generation, we shall be committing the unforgivable crime of denying our descendants the opportunity of learning the Vedas….'

Give serious thought to this call of our Acharyas

Gow Pooja

Worshipping the cow is a custom in Hindu tradition. This is Called Gowpuja.

Much importance is given to gopuja in our Puranas. These Puranas tell that the four Samudras (Chathu Sagaras) are in the milk of the Cow (Goksheeram). The Vedic Scholars say that all the worlds (Samastha Bhuvanaas) are hidden in all parts of the Cow. If we Observe the details of the parts of the cow, the various devidevathas who dwell in the different parts of the cow are ----Lord Siva dwells in the forehead and horns of the cow. That is why if one takes the water which is sprinkled on the cow’s horns it is Equal ant to the effect of Water of Triveni Sangamam. Not only that, it is as effective as worshipping Kasi Visweswaradu with Siva Ashtotharam, Sahasranamalu and with the leaves of Maredu (Bilwadalhalu). It is also said that Lord Subrahmanya resides in the nose part of the Cow, Worshipping that nose part is to prevent the loss of children. To get relief from all diseases is worshipping the ears of the cow as it is the place of Aswini Devathas The Sun and Moon are near the eyes of the Cow. So Worshipping the eyes of the Cow is Beneficial to Obtain the Knowledge of light by driving away the darkners of ignorance and also to get Wealth and Prosperity. To get Children early, Worshipping the tongue of the cow as it is the Place of Varuna deva, to get good Education, Worshipping goddess Saraswati, who is in the of the Cow, and on the right side of the face of the cow resides Yama and on the leftside of the face Dharmadevathas reside. Worshipping these two parts is important to attain Moksha. In the Udder of the cow are the four Purushardhas. So it is to be Worshipped to get dharma, artha, Kama and Moksha. As Indra resides in the neck part of the Cow, it is to be worshipped to beget children. Nagadevathas are at the end of the Hooves of the Cow and they are to be worshipped to avoid the danger from the snakes. The Hooves are the Places of Gandharvas and apsaras, they are to be worshipped to Obtain all prosperity, So in all aspects, it is Considered that worshipping the cow is the worship of all Devidevathas

The Vedas that constitute the scripture common to all and which reveal the Godhead that is common to us and also teach us, how to lead our life, and this is important – they do us the ultimate good by showing us in the end the way to become that very Godhead ourselves.

They are our refuge both here and the hereafter and are the source and root of all our different traditions – all our systems of thought.
