Mrityunjaya Homam

One of the avatars of Lord Shiva, i.e, of Mrityunjaya is clearly stated in the above shloka. Lord Mrityunjaya appears with his third eye and eight shoulders. The upper left and right arms of his hold a pitcher of Amrutham that is directed to be poured onto himself. Markandeya has sung the above lines. Mrityunjaya has three eyes that of the sun, fire, and moon. The Fire eye destroys the sins, Sun eye eradicates ignorance and the moon eye provides relief from soaring temperatures. Mrityunjaya Archana and Homam rescue the devotees from untimely death and defects in stars. When performed with Rudradhyaayanuvaakam and Moolamantra Havana, devotees shall gain the results of Rudra Homam and complete blessings of Lord Shiva.
